I was drawn to this sweet girl right away. There are so many things about her that anyone would be captivated by.

Her laugh.

Her smile.

Her goodnight hugs.

Her sense of humor.

Her love for others.

Her willingness to translate.

Her intentionality.

Her love for Gracie (the dog).

Luz has so much to offer this world. To say she had a rough childhood would be putting it lightly. Luz was born in a park. She was born with a birth deformity that required immediate medical intervention. She initially needed a colostomy which then led to around a dozen operations to ensure her bowels functioned properly. She was constantly recovering physically. Operation after operation she spent most of her childhood in and out of hospital beds. She never had a parent by her bed side. She never had a support system she could rely on. Luz learned how to be strong. She didn’t really have any other option. Luz bounced around in foster care, she lived with other family members for a short time, craving a family that loved and accepted her. And then came Bob and the Mi Casa family! Luz was embraced here immediately. She was loved and cherished as the little girl she was. Now, at 12 years old she has a bed she can call her own, sisters that she can relate to and a family she can call her own.

Luz is currently enrolled in a private, Christian school. As I said in my last blog, the public school systems here are very dangerous. To ensure Luz’s education for the upcoming school year which begins in January she needs help! It costs about $80 a month for the 10 months of school. She’d be taught English, given a safe learning environment, and a curriculum on her specific learning level to ensure she’s not falling behind. Please prayerfully consider helping my newfound friend! You can support her monthly or even with a one time donation. Every little bit helps and Luz is so worth it! If you’d like to learn more about her story I can send it to you privately. Luz is a treasure on my journey and I for one will be forever grateful for any prayers or donations sent her way. I included her link below, please let me know if you have any questions about her or the ministry!
