This little boy stole my heart day one. Melvin is such a smily energetic 11 year old boy. He loves soccer, card games, Marvel everything and pranking me as much as possible. He comes off shy at first but warms up quickly and is always willing to give a hug or high five/hand shake. Melvin came to the home when he was 4 years old. His mother was dying of AIDS and her doctor brought Melvin to Bob and the Mi Casa family in hope of giving Melvin a good home. He has older brothers that have been involved in gangs. One shot and killed the others throat slit and is currently still in a coma. He has older sisters that have unfortunately all been teen moms.

Melvin has been embraced and taken in as part of the family since day one. He’s been attending the private Christian school in town and receiving a great education. His English is developing well and he is thriving in all areas of life. In order for Melvin to continue attending the private school he needs help! If Melvin were to attend the public schools here in Santa Tecla there’s no doubt he’d be forced into a gang. Whereas the private school offers a safe environment, guaranteed learning on his level and a Christian community. Melvin isn’t funded for the school year yet which starts next month! It costs $80 a month for his tuition. Please consider helping this sweet boy get the education he so rightfully deserves. You can make a one time donation or a monthly pledge on the link listed below. Thank you for considering helping my new friend Melvin!
