Hello fam and friends! It’s me! I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to write. Life on the race has been crazy, and fun and filled with lots of change! Let me begin by saying I’m in Cambodia and loving it! This country is filled with every form of beauty imaginable – the people, the culture, the landscapes, literally everything takes my breath away.
Now for the change! Usually around month five is when team changes happen and leadership shifts a bit. Our current squad leader, Britt leaves the race after having poured into us for the last five months and ‘raised up’ squad leaders within the squad step up as the new leadership. Raised up squad leaders get the joy of having the squad be their ministry. They still get to do ministry within the countries we’re traveling to, but pouring into and being there for the squad is their primary focus. This looks like traveling between the teams, pouring into the team leaders, being an emotional support and so many other incredible things. And guess who is a raised up squad leader?!
ME!!
I’m so thankful and excited for this new season the Lord is bring me into. I felt Him put leadership on my heart back in November in El Salvador. I immediately dismissed it and blatantly said no. I wrestled with the Lord over the idea of being a team leader or squad leader. I liked where I was on the race. I liked not having responsibilities and people to ‘lead.’ Little did I know He was totally preparing me. Like I said, I wrestled with Him long enough to realize I wasn’t gonna win. I prayed long and hard and asked Him to change the desires of my heart. Which He totally did! When Madie, my squad mentor, called me in Vietnam asking me to be a raised up squad leader I was excited! I was equally nervous and terrified as well, but excited! I’ve been so encouraged by the support and love I’ve received from everyone on the squad. And I get to share in this joy with the two other raised up squad leaders – Kyndal and Rashad.
We’ve had a fun month of learning our role and being discipled by Britt and Madie. We’ve struggled and celebrated together. We’ve leaned on each other for support and encouraged one another higher. We will each be spending next month serving with different teams. I’m so excited to learn to lean on God and the Holy Spirit in a new and different way. I’m excited to learn Godly leadership. This has been one of my favorite months and I can’t wait to embrace this new season with open arms!
I am not surprised by your call. Another opportunity for you to grow in the Lord! I’m sure there will be struggles and growth! God has you and a wonderful plan for your life. Love you!

Hola Kaitin, I know that you will be a great leader (servant). Its a lot of extra work, issues, problems so it will bring you to your knees even more. A good thing.
Sweet the God put it on your heart earlier in the race.
Love you,
Bob & your family at Mi Casa
Congratulations my friend! What an amazing opportunity! However, I’ll say I’m not surprised God has chosen you for this role, you’re going to be amazing. How blessed your squad is to have your beautiful heart, dedicated spirit and faith guiding them. Prayers to you all!
